In accordance with University of Utah policy, all employees, students, and volunteers who operate any vehicle for university business—including departmental golf carts—are required to complete the State Division of Risk Management’s online Defensive Driving Training. 

This training consists of a brief video and an accompanying test. It must be completed every two years and following any preventable accident. 

Additional Benefit
While this training is a university requirement, it may also qualify you for a discount on your personal auto insurance or a point reduction on your Utah driver’s license. For these purposes, you may wish to complete a course through the Utah Safety Council or other authorized provider. 

Golf Cart Operators
If you intend to operate a departmental golf cart, please submit a copy of your training completion certificate to Alexis Rose.
